2012 Sony Xperia devices to receive Jelly Bean update soon

The Jelly Bean roll-out meant for 2012 Sony Xperia devices is on its way for all those waiting to get a taste of Google’s latest Android OS. Owners of the Xperia T and TX have some good news headed their way too. These handsets will begin receiving the Android 4.1 upgrade from mid-first quarter, next year.
The aforementioned smartphones will not be the only ones to acquire the update, as the soon to be launched Xperia V is also slated to receive the upgrade during the same time. The Jelly Bean update list even includes a few other handsets that were out not so long ago, like the Xperia ion, go, S, P and acro S. But the company hasn’t specified any particulars as to the exact availability and update timings for these devices. So users will just have to wait a little while longer to have these details confirmed.
2012 Sony Xperia Jelly Bean Update
Contradictory to what the company stated earlier, the handsets belonging to last year’s Xperia lineup, will not be upgraded to the Jelly Bean platform. Instead, the IceCream Sandwich update will be sent out across most markets and to a majority of its variants. As a post on the official Sony Xperia Product blog points out, these smartphones will not be upgraded to the Google OS versions following Android 4.0.4, though they will receive firmware maintenance releases.
Xperia V
To cut it short, the Jelly Bean update for the 2012 Sony Xperia devices will be rolled out soon. Its availability and timings of the upgrade will vary depending upon themarket and customer variants.
